Karma in Sanskrit means “doing”.
Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do. It describes the concept of getting back whatever you put forth – good or bad – into the universe. Our deeds affect and create our past, present and future experiences, thus, karma makes us responsible for our own life and the pain or joy it brings to others.
Ufffff, quite difficult to understand, right?
There’s a lot of misconception about Karma, its definition and how it applies in our life. It all depends on whom you ask. 😊
Let me explain this in a simpler terms. Karma is the law of the nature. Every single action we take, is like a little seed we plant. The seed will eventually grow and, just as in nature, some seeds flourish more quickly than others. Some seeds will ripen fast, and others could take decades or lifetimes. But, one thing is certain, the seed will ripen and we will have to face the result of our actions. Your world is 100% the result of your previous actions, words and thoughts.
I’m sharing the laws of Karma which resonate with me and my interpretation of them.
Enjoy reading my version of Laws of Karma!
- The law of cause and effect.
- You get back the thoughts or energy you give, be it good or bad.
- To get what you want from the world or yourself, ensure to give the same.
- The law of creation.
- Nothing comes your way magically in life.
- To make things happen in your life, you have to take action.
- You are the creator of making what you want, based on your intentions.
- The law of humility.
- Your current reality is the result of your past actions.
- Be humble to accept this fact.
- And every action of yours in the present moment defines your future.
- The law of growth.
- Growth starts within you.
- The only thing you have control over is yourself.
- So, focus on you.
- To shape the world positively, start with yourself.
- The law of responsibility.
- You own what happens to you in life.
- You are the product of the choices you make.”
- Look inward to find the cause of your problems.
- The law of connection.
- Everything in your life, your past, present, and future, are connected.
“Who you are today is the result of your previous actions,” - And who you will be tomorrow will be the result of your actions today.
- The law of focus.
- Focus on one thing at a time.
- Focus on positive values like love and peace.
- It helps you not getting caught in the feelings of resentment, greed, or anger.
- The law of here and now
- To live peacefully, embrace the present moment.
- It happens only when you make peace with negative thoughts or behaviors from your past.
- The law of change.
- Until and unless you learn from your experiences to do things differently, everything repeats in your life.
- Change gives you a new path to create a new future and to be a better version of yourself.
- The law of significance and inspiration.
- Every contribution you make will affect the world.
- Each one of us is born with a specific gift, mission, and purpose that only you can bring into the world with your uniqueness.
To me Karma is more than just “जैसी करनी वैसी भरनी”. It is about becoming aware of behaviour and action. It is a positive way to cope with the otherwise unpleasant experience of just sitting around and waiting.
Understanding karma is a key to living well. You can use the laws of karma to create success in your life.
I’ve shared my interpretation of Law of Karma. I would love to hear from you as well.
